The Rogue River Chapter, NSDAR, is Michigan's 55th and newest chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). NSDAR was founded in 1890, and is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. NSDAR has nearly 190,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world. This chapter is chartered in Rockford and serves northern Kent County.
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the NSDAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor.
